So many people have asked me about job openings here at TransWestern Publishing that I had our crack program designer put all of the listings online.

You can search jobs by state, department.

The only job you can't have is mine!

I'm heading out to this conference, so if you see me, come on up and say hello.

It's ok if you want to buy me a beer, too.

Digital Directories & Interactive Local Media

As the internet becomes more ingrained in local search, this is perhaps the most important conference of the year.

I'm writing a piece for "Search Engine Watch" for my heroes Chris Sherman and Danny Sullivan.

Peace,

So the other day, I was up in Orange County doing a sales training.

I rolled out my "James Brown School of Selling with Soul" bit.

The team loved it, and became very fired up with the rocking music, images and simple message.

For instance, the Godfather of Soul's advice for rejection is...

"When the Apollo don't want you, play any place that'll take you"

In the Yellow Pages, the Apollo is the Personal Injury Attorney who has a double truck in the utility directory but won't even give the independent rep the time of day. How to deal with such a dilemma?

Drop me a line, and I'll tell you what the godfather told me.

I thought that it would be kind of fun to update the look of the site. I started throwing in some Camo backgrounds, but will do a real website upgrade in a few weeks.

I'll probably use the designer who worked on the Century Toastmasters site for me.

in the meantime, it's pretty lame looking, but all of the great content you've grown to know and love.

My Toastmasters Club has a very talented member, Jim Tucker.

He's competed for two years running the the Toastmasters International World Championships of Public Speaking.

Of the 190,000 Toastmaster members, only 9 advance to the final rounds. And Jim's done it twice.

We're having a special get together for him to discuss what the world championships are all about, and show a video of his performance.

He's really a very, very good speaker, and an inspiration to me.

Hope you can join us.

I'm rebranding all of my stuff to "The Yellow Pages Commando News" to give it a more fun approach and make it more memorable.

Pretty soon, the pages will all be found at

http://ypcommando.com

Hope you like the changes.
People always ask me where I find the pictures I use for my newsletters.

I prefer to use www.strangecosmos.com and www.Ilovebacon.com because they seem to have a good supply of stuff I can use.
